Welcome Home: Why I Started The Christ-Centered Home Project
Hi, friend. I'm Jess, and I'm so glad you're here.
I'm a mom of four. Most days at my house are noisy and full, with a pile of shoes by the door and somebody always hungry. A while back, something kept pressing on my heart: I didn't just want a busy home. I wanted a home that is rock-solid because it's built on Jesus Christ. I wanted it happy, loving, and lit up in Christ.
I also wanted my kids to have a testimony of their own, not one borrowed from me. I can't hand that to them. What I can do is open the door every day in small ways and invite them to come and feel the Savior for themselves.
That's why I started The Christ-Centered Home Project. Our motto is simple: helping families come unto Christ, one day at a time. Not one perfect Family Home Evening at a time. Not one Pinterest-worthy lesson at a time. Just one day, one small step.
The scriptures say it plainly: "Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him" (Moroni 10:32). I love that the invitation is to come. It doesn't say "arrive already finished." Coming is something we can do on a Tuesday night with a messy kitchen.
What you'll find here, all free:
- General Conference for Kids & Teens. Every conference talk retold three ways (ages 4–7, 8–11, and 12–18), plus blank breakout sheets that help kids find the message themselves and even teach it at home.
- Family History at Home. One simple activity a month, with printable cards, a flyer, and a step-by-step tools guide with QR codes that go straight to FamilySearch and the Church's website.
- Book of Mormon Video Study Sheets. Kid and teen companion pages for 13 animated Book of Mormon episodes, with real verses, matching games, and a question for the dinner table.
Use what helps and leave the rest. A simple, Spirit-led evening is better than a perfect one, and that's the heart of everything I make.
I'm not an expert, just a mom figuring this out alongside you. Everything here began as my own notes and printables for my own kids. I share it because I think you're doing the same holy work in your home, and none of us should have to do it alone.
So grab a printable, pick one small thing for this week, and let's build homes centered on Jesus Christ together.
With love, Jess
Quick update: the full Family History Tools Guide is coming soon. For now, grab the Tools Quick Start and this month’s cards on the Family History page.
